THE BIRTH OF BUTLER & BLAKELY

 Hi there! I'm Rachel, the owner of Butler and Blakely. Butler and Blakely is an eclectic gift and home line inspired by my (late) parents. Butler is my dad's middle name and Blakely is my mom's maiden name.

My parents were married for 45 blissful years. Within that time, my father worked in a textile factory. For 20 years, every week  he would bring home enormous bags filled with scraps, fat quarters, and remnants that my mom sewed into clothing for my siblings and I. I recall my mother sewed me a pair of green plaid pants and that's when I discovered my love for fabric. Since then, I've always been involved with design in some form.

I became a graphic designer for a few years while studying  textile design and that’s when the idea of Butler & Blakely was born. Now I design home accessories with the same exuberant use of colors and prints as my mom.

At Butler & Blakely we  curate recycled and new fabrics to bring a fun modern twist on accessories  for you and your home. Growing up in a big family, you can just imagine lack of space. Our mission is to create products that make that space you are in feel like home, whether traveling, at home or just in your own skin.

Our products are designed with eclectic pattern and color combinations. Each collection reflects a different part of the Butler & Blakely story from who left the last drop of milk to my first babysitting job where I gave my siblings a price sheet :) Being young definitely doesn’t have a shortage of stories  and we hope that you'll make our textiles and accessories part of your story too.
